Local Lodge Officers: Update Your Email Address for the Winpisinger Center’s 2022 Call for Leadership Programs

Calling all Local Lodge officers! Is your current email address on file with the Grand Lodge?

The Winpisinger Center is preparing to distribute the 2022 Call for Leadership Programs and, for the first time, it will be distributed electronically. The W3 Center will be sending letters, forms, schedules and posters via email.

If you are a Local Lodge officer, please update your contact information with the Grand Lodge Membership Services Department as soon as possible so that the W3 Center can get the call letter to you in a timely manner. Estimated distribution is mid-September.

The Winpisinger Center will make an announcement when the 2022 Call for Leadership Programs is released. We encourage Local Lodge officers to review the call information as soon as possible upon receipt so that the Local or District can register members and officers before programs begin in January 2022.

If you need to update your contact information with the Membership Services Department, please call 301-967-4525 or send an email to roster@iamaw.org.

Machinists Union Members Honoring Picket Line for Striking Nabisco Workers

Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International (BCTGM) members at Nabisco, a subsidiary of anti-worker Mondelēz International, are on strike in five states over brutal working conditions, low pay, outsourcing and the introduction of a two-tier health care system which forces health care costs onto workers’ shoulders. IAM members from Local 49 (District 8) and District W24 at Mondelēz facilities are honoring the strike in solidarity with BCTGM workers.

Another way to support the strike is to make sure you and your family purchase Nabisco products made only in America.

“The Machinists Union supports and stands in solidarity with our union sisters and brothers at BCTGM who are on the picket line fighting for their livelihoods,” said IAM International President Robert Martinez Jr. “Mondelēz International must be held accountable for their unfair treatment of its workers, plant closings and outsourcing of jobs. The IAM will always join the fight to protect workers’ rights.”

Nabisco workers have been working without a contract since the end of May, saying their first strike in 52 years is about keeping what they had as employees producing Oreo cookies, Ritz crackers and other snacks for the global food conglomerate.
