2023 Negotiations: Day 1

2023 Negotiations: Day 1

Brothers and Sisters,

Negotiations kicked off with opening remarks from representatives from the IAM Eastern Grand Lodge, IAM District 4, and Local S6, as well as remarks from the President of BIW.

We hit the deck running with the Company, tentatively agreeing on over 20 articles without any significant changes. Most notably Article 30 Subcontracting, an article we went on Strike over in 2020. None of the Articles are of direct financial significance.

At this point in time, the process is going smoothly and professionally. We are ready to move forward and hope to keep up the momentum as we work through the rest of the contract.

Thank you, everyone, for your support. None of this would be possible without our strong membership.

In Solidarity,

Local Lodge S6 Negotiating Committee
